my Sakani ❤️
Today is your day, and even though so much has happened between us, I couldn’t let this day pass without telling you just how much you still mean to me.
I honestly don’t even know where to begin because there are so many things I could say. But if there is one thing I want you to know today, it is that I am genuinely grateful that I got to know you, love you, laugh with you, argue with you, grow with you, and share a beautiful part of my life with you.
Sakani, you were not just someone I dated. You became a very important part of my story.
For over a year, we shared moments that I will probably carry with me for the rest of my life. The little conversations, the random jokes, the laughter, the disagreements, the late-night talks, the times we missed each other, the moments when just having you around made everything feel a little better. At the time, maybe I didn’t realize how special some of those moments were. But looking back now, I realize that some of the happiest memories of my life have you somewhere in them.
And honestly, I have missed you.
I’ve missed your presence. I’ve missed talking to you. I’ve missed the person I could be around you. I’ve missed those little things about you that I probably didn’t appreciate enough when I had them right in front of me.
Sometimes life has a strange way of making us lose something before we truly understand its value.
We’ve both changed. We’ve both experienced things. We’ve both had moments where we probably wondered whether what we had was really over. And maybe there were times when we hurt each other in ways neither of us intended.
But despite everything, there has always been a part of me that couldn’t completely let go of you.
Maybe it’s because what we had was real to me.
Maybe it’s because, no matter how much time passes, some people leave a mark on your heart that doesn’t simply disappear.
And Sakani, you left that kind of mark on mine.
I won’t pretend that everything was perfect between us, because it wasn’t. We had our problems. We had misunderstandings. We had moments where we didn’t understand each other. We made mistakes. But when I look at the entire journey, I don’t want to remember us only for the things that went wrong.
I want to remember the love.
I want to remember the happiness.
I want to remember the friendship.
I want to remember the two people who once chose each other and created something beautiful together.
And maybe that’s why, even after everything, a part of me still hopes that there could be another chapter for us.
I don’t know what the future holds for you and me. I don’t want to force anything, rush anything, or put expectations on today. If we’re going to find our way back to each other, I want it to happen naturally, with understanding, patience, maturity, forgiveness, and a genuine desire from both of us to do things better this time.
But I won’t lie to you either.
Maybe that is something I should have said more often. Maybe there were moments when my actions didn’t communicate it properly. Maybe I didn’t always know how to love you the way you needed to be loved.
But the feeling never completely disappeared.
And seeing you again, talking to you again, and even having these conversations about what could possibly happen between us has reminded me of just how much you mean to me.
I don’t know if life is giving us a second chance or simply allowing two people who once loved each other to find some closure. But whatever it is, I’m grateful for it.
Because having you back in my life in any capacity has reminded me that some connections are worth fighting for, and some people are worth being patient for.
On your birthday, though, I don’t want this message to be about me or about our past.
Today is about YOU.
I hope this new year of your life brings you peace in places where you’ve been hurting, happiness in places where you’ve felt empty, clarity when you feel confused, and strength for every challenge that comes your way.
I hope you achieve the things you’ve been quietly praying for.
I hope you become the woman you’ve always wanted to become.
I hope you laugh more.
I hope you experience genuine happiness.
I hope you surround yourself with people who love you, respect you, support you, and remind you of your worth.
And I hope you never forget how special you are.
Sakani, you deserve a beautiful life.
You deserve to be loved properly.
You deserve someone who chooses you, not only when things are easy, but also when life gets difficult.
And if somehow life gives me the privilege of being that person again, I want to do it differently. I want to love you with more patience. I want to communicate better. I want to listen more. I want to understand you instead of always trying to be understood. I want us to grow together instead of growing apart.
I don’t want us to simply go back to what we were.
If we ever find our way back to each other, I want us to build something even better than what we had before.
Something healthier.
Something stronger.
Something more intentional.
Something where two people don’t just love each other, but actually choose each other every single day.
But regardless of what happens between us, I want you to know that I will always be grateful for the time we shared.
You were one of the best moments of my life. And maybe that’s why forgetting you was never as simple as I thought it would be.
Some memories fade.
Some people become strangers.
But some people remain a part of you in a way you can’t really explain.
You’re one of those people for me.
So today, I celebrate you. I celebrate the beautiful person you are, the woman you are becoming, and the journey ahead of you.
